The creative team at InForm designed the Elwood Townhouse, a private residence located in Elwood, Australia. A steel, glass, wood, and concrete exterior creates a straightforward and highly modern look. Inside, it‘s white walls and lots of light wood — just right for a home that includes a full-blown yoga studio.
When designing a modern space, the first step is to get rid of (or at least hide) any unneeded clutter. Once the room is cleared, add a few multifunctional pieces. Be sure that every element you bring in has a clearly defined purpose in addition to driving home your modern aesthetic. Carefully distribute items throughout the room so that it feels balanced.
While the living space reflects the designer‘s international art and taste, the master bedroom is simple white-on-white. The painting over the bed by Spanish street artist Pejac creates a calm focal point and adds to the contrast from the fun hubbub of the living space.
If you’re looking for a bold way to incorporate this trend, then painting stripes on your walls is the choice for you. But don’t go overboard — chose one main focal wall to incorporate stripes, not the entire room. Wallpaper works too.
